Team Bangkok, Thailand- Short Term Missionaries |
As far as many Asian countries go for visiting foreigners, Thailand is certainly among the most relaxed with regard to customs and rules. The same with Philippines, Thailand is known for its warm hospitality and uniquely welcoming ways. "Sawadeeka - thai greeting of hello - with a gesture of putting hands together.
I know I was called for missions. Who are not? Matthew 28: 19 reveals that all who hear his voice are asked to follow and those who know the gospel are called to share what they've witnessed and not to keep.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

Christian missionaries have made a huge impact in the history of the church. Surely that in the body of Christ, they are the feet. One of the most used and challenged but the most beautiful of all parts as they bring the gospel of peace. These people were by no means perfect, fully prepared, or fully equipped for the life they would live.
We went to Thailand to share the gospel to the college students there. The experience is truly life changing and I would say faith rising. First few days, we went around the city to do prayer walk, simple but I would say powerful.
As a part of site seeing and discovering the beauty of Bangkok, that simple task but would say the most essential preparation throughout our mission. Prayer walking involves taking our prayers to very places where we desire to see God's presence manifested and our prayers answered. We even used scripture declaring blessing and peace to the place. I really enjoyed those walks and felt the abiding presence of the Spirit.
The first few days were truly exciting! We wake up every morning begins with devotion. My love for music cannot be hidden as I happened to lead the group in singing song and praises. I didn't know that this opportunity was coming because I just happened to volunteer on the first day but almost all throughout the mission the whole group spent an hour or more worshiping and praying altogether in one hotel room before we go to Ramkhamhaeng University and meet the students for Christ.
I built friendship with local students that continues until now. I can't stop my tears rolling down my face when I heard each of them following in my short prayer of acceptance. What an unexplainable joy it was!
The Lord has provided me people, opportunities and even this nation of Thailand to fulfill His promise to be a short-term missionary. The experience has taught me how to become more mindful of the work and Word of God. In relation to this, my local church in partnership with Every Nation Ministries in Bangkok, Thailand has been a channel of extreme growth in my faith journey. This mission strengthens and confirms my calling to be the hands, feet and mouthpiece of Christ to the students in that Nation. Since early, I am beginning to see a real hunger in the hearts of the people in this Hindu Nation and resolved to myself to go when the time is ripe and right. After months of praying, indeed God opened the door of Thailand for me. Fulfilling his call to reach every nation and every campus with the Gospel of Christ. "Kob Khun ka, Thailand!" (Thank you, Thailand)
