When Healing Came in the Quiet

Image
My Encounter with Jehovah Rapha in Israel Even now, as I sit and reflect on everything that happened during my time in Israel, one truth remains clear and deeply amplified in my heart: He is seated powerfully on His throne, and nothing, absolutely nothing catches Him by surprise. With the loving gaze of the Lord, I came to Israel ready  physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  In the months leading up to the trip, I committed to setting aside days of prayer and fasting . Along with that, I also formed a prayer circle of women close to my heart-  sisters in the faith whom I trusted. I kept them updated and asked them to be my prayer shield while I was on the mission field. Their intercession covered me in ways I would only fully realize once I was there, facing unexpected challenges and breakthroughs.  I packed comfortable clothes, took vitamins, got my flu booster shots. I thought I had prepared myself well for the rigors of ministry, travel, and long d...

Kob Khun ka, Thailand! Mission Trip

Image
Team Bangkok, Thailand- Short Term Missionaries As far as many Asian countries go for visiting foreigners, Thailand is certainly among the most relaxed with regard to customs and rules. The same with Philippines, Thailand is known for its warm hospitality and uniquely welcoming ways. "Sawadeeka - thai greeting of hello - with a gesture of putting hands together.  I know I was called for missions. Who are not? Matthew 28: 19 reveals that all who hear his voice are asked to follow and those who know the gospel are called to share what they've witnessed and not to keep.  " Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,   and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."  Sawadeeka Christian missionaries have made a huge impact in the history of the church. Surely that in the body of Christ, they are the feet.  One of the most used and challenged...

Reaching Thailand, All Out For His Glory!

Image
Every Nation World Missions Sawat –dee ka! “Blessings” Hope all is well with you and your family! Early last year, I am beginning to see a real hunger in the hearts of the    people in Non-Christian Nations. I began to think how they are restricted to open the Bible or even personally pray to Jesus. I wonder how they cope with life’s challenges without the ultimate guidance of His word. In my apprehensions, I started to pray that one day I could get out of the borders and go for Christ! This coming June 2013, the door of Thailand has opened and I will go there as a ten days missionary. I am beginning to see a need in the hearts of the people in this Hindu Nation. I believe that the Lord has called me to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the young people of this nation. Thailand experiences a good economic growth for the past four years, however Hinduism  is the   faith of 95 percent of the population, and only 0.5% are Christians. Despite the fact ...

Reflection from Matthew 28:16-20

Image
credit to mountainous.com The call, commission, and covenant which were given and promised at the peak of that mountain are still the same appeal to the present time. Since the power and identity of our great Rabbi never change, so His overflowing desire to cover the earth with his love and grace remains. This 21th century, we can never hide the fact that the weight of this demand for the believers increases. We are truly in the last days, living in the already but not yet. We are becoming the highlights of Matthew 28:16-20, for the labour of this great commission has been presently passing on to us. Indeed, the work of the early apostles was magnificently accomplished because the gospel has faithfully reached us. However, the very meaning of that mission is not yet absolutely fulfilled. Until there is a nation in which have not yet witnessed by the gospel of Christ this grand purpose is not yet complete. In another lens, and perhaps, the leaders of today have not yet learned t...

Is Singleness like Wilderness?

Image
The Scripture repeatedly exhorts us to regard the wilderness not as a place of punishment, but as a place of deep purpose.  The Israelites spent forty years in the wilderness. For some, the wilderness is a place of confusion, wandering, loss of clear purpose, and exposure to great risk.  I remember when Professor Noli Mendoza, our bible subject teacher quoted: “Wilderness is a place of Testing”. [1]  But I believed that more than testing, it is also a place of preparation. The series of geographical undertaking of the Israelites before they reach the Promised Land is one portion of God’s plan. I had a chance to browse the book,  “Waiting on God”  written by a female author named Cherie Hill. She quoted from Charles Spurgeon’s saying: “The Wilderness is the way to Canaan. Defeat prepares us for victory. The darkest hour of the night precedes the dawn.” [2]  Considerably, for singles, wilderness is the metaphor of waiting room experience. At ...

Listening

Image
Glorious New Year Everyone! r ead› Matthew 6:5-34 D on’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him! (v.8). I have recently noticed that I am adept at a skill that should not be celebrated. I  pretend  to listen. Whether it’s a loss of focus because we’re planning what to say next in a heated debate or the random derailed train of thought amidst a casual conversation, I doubt that I’m the only one who excels in this gifting. Sometimes, realizing I have no idea what has been said, I will listen more carefully in the hopes of covering my lack of attention; other times, I simply tell on myself because I have no idea where the conversation has been. When it comes to communication, few of us lose focus when we’re the ones talking—it’s the listening that creates difficulties. The same could be said for prayer. We have our agendas of what we want God to know about our lives, our lists of prayer requests we offer for others, and ...

Grace of My Life

Image
Whenever I heard the book of Genesis the first few words that resound in my head is merely the phrase, “ In the beginning, God created the world .” I know for a fact that he created everything and all that we are enjoying now is the fruit of His labour way back thousands of years ago. But at this point, I purely understand this condition that it was not just simply creation, but also His work proceeds in an orderly fashion with an overall purpose. In creation, God caused which was void to take on form, pattern and law. So it was by His word the sky strokes the air, the valleys curved, the mountain stood up high, the ocean touches the shore, and the heaven opens as the sun gives light. It is truly amazing to know that the One who holds my heart is also the Author of them all! The world was formed and breathed us life. He had proven the kind of love that accurately satisfied. As the formless chaos was changed into final product of creation, God introduced multiplicity and order. I s...

Glimpse of what is to come

Image
Jesus, I know y ou are powerful. You holds the future. Your Word is true, and Your promises are sure! Lord , I love You. This morning, I woke up with an unusual feeling. I had a dream… in that dream I was a mother. I was caring for my baby with so much love and tenderness, and my ‘husband’ was simply watching me quietly as I take this little one close to my chest. Even right after I open my eyes from sleep,  I still weirdly feel what it truly means to be a mother.  It was breathtaking! It seemed like I was watching a movie but I was the actress on that main scene! And even though I couldn’t recognize my husband's face, I sensed his presence. He was there sitting close to me, steady and near. I love that feeling, Lord. I truly want that kind of blissfulness. I wonder was that dream your response to my prayer last night? Could it be a glimpse of what’s to come? My heart is hoping and praying that role will not remain as a dream… but soon will turn into real...

The Cake!

Image
(Based from the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard) Matthew 20:1-16 In the story… there is this Teacher who loves her students dearly. And because of that she baked a cake for them (let’s make it simple, we’ll show a cute picture of a chocolate cake). She put some grated chocolate rolls on top and sprinkled with freshly picked cherries around. She wants to share this cake to her beloved students. That day ( 1 ST BOY ) came first to the class, he was so early to prepare for the other subjects, and as the teacher saw this early boy inside the room, she told him that she baked a cake for the whole class, with this, she politely requested him to stay in a while and guard the cake from all the insects that might ruin it. She advised him that after the teacher’s meeting, he will get his part, so better to safeguard it dearly. The teacher went out, and after few minutes there was a cat came and ferociously running toward the cake! (1 st Boy) immediately took it up and shoo...

It’s a Choice

Image
You can smile hiding your teeth You can dance off the beat You can stare at the beach and see the bay But is it enough just to surpass the day? You can be intimate but not secure You can kiss him and not being assure You can eat without delight But how can you say that things are just all right You can speak without the deed You can share and nothing left You can live but not being alive That is a life living in pride You can do what you wanna do You can choose friends who can go with you You can laugh out of joy Cause happiness is not always after boys A life without a purpose is a total mess Only in Christ we can be blessed Take off your mask and eat beside His chair That’s the best in life, nothing can ever compare by yours truly

Sink or Swim

Image
Posted in Give me Peace in You by Kate Goeler on 8/25/2012 I spent the majority of this week feeling like I was bobbing in the paralyzingly vast ocean that is the first week of school.  Between full time work as an athletic trainer kicking into full gear, my last year of grad school beginning, and an overwhelming amount of extra-curriculars, I became easily distracted and lost focus of where my sights are always to be looking towards.  I found myself re-submitting my heart to the Lord on a moment to moment basis, wondering why I wasn't able to keep the joy.  I'd feel it for a moment and then have something else come my way to add to my to do list and instantly I was pushed back down beneath another ocean wave, flailing my arms in an attempt to reach the surface for a breath of fresh air...it's unfortunate I'm no Missy Franklin. With the week coming to an end, you'd think I would have been excited for a restful weekend, but the task of support letter...

A Thousand Years - will love you for a thousand more...

Image
I usually heard this song in weddings and romantic films. But when I first heard it, I suddenly thought of the LORD JESUS. It is beautifully composed and ought to be sang by someone who gave it all for those he loves. The one who is brave enough and willing to die for those he value so much. The perfect demonstrator of love. In my senses, I heard the Lord singing this to me in his own melody, while me here under the starry night.  Heart beats fast Colors and promises How to be brave How can I love when I'm afraid to fall But watching you stand alone All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow One step closer [Chorus:] I have died everyday waiting for you Darling don't be afraid I have loved you For a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more Time stands still Beauty in all she is  I will be brave I will not let anything take away What's standing in front of me Every breath Every hour has come t...
