What actually happens in Color Manila Run?
A LOT
OF FUN! It’s really the biggest obstacle fun run in the country, last July 30,
2017 at McKinley Hill, Taguig. Over 120,000 runners participated in various
franchises; biggest number to date.
They
have options of choosing between race kits:
1.
Deluxe - Php 950.00 includes a white race bib, sunglasses, finisher’s medal and
color packet.
2.
Trooper -Php 1,500.00, includes a colored singlet, race bib, sunglasses,
finisher’s medal, color packet, drawstring bag and head wear.
3.
Challenger - Php 1,850.00, includes black singlet, race bib, sunglasses,
finisher’s medal, color packet, drawstring bag, head wear and a finisher’s
shirt.
1. It’s
a great way to invite new friends to run.
However,
due to the huge number of participants this year, it also contributed to
killing the momentum and excitement of the fun run because you will have to
wait for your turn for at least five minutes before you can do the challenge.
But then again, all is well that ends well. You just need to enjoy every bit of
it. Races like this is a great venue to introduce running to friends and
relieves. Run with them, and pace them, maybe give them tips along the
way.
2. You
don’t really run… seriously.
Honestly,
in races like Color Manila (unless you joined the 21K distance), you don’t
really “run”, well not seriously anyway, the race is designed so that runners take
mandatory stops at “color stations” to play with colors and activities within
the area. But since this is just our first Color Manila Run, the group took the
3K category and race becomes even more challenging because of the obstacles on every goal you passed. So, I guess better choice on this fun run.
