A Taal to Remember

Heavy ash from Taal continues to fall on nearby municipalities and a total of 212 volcanic earthquakes have taken place so far up until last week. Taal is a tiny volcano, but it has been deadly before according to one of the tour guides during our trip. It is located about 50 kilo meters (31 mi) south of Manila. The main crater of Taal Volcano originally had a lake until the explosive happened last week.

Flash back two months ago before this very dangerous state, I even visited this baby volcano together with my friends. I never thought that it was already not in good status when we came last November 2019, since no warning signs or any news shared to the public.  The plan going to Taal Crater just came up while we are in the car heading to Tagaytay, Batangas.

The original plan was only going for a road trip, plus food trip around Tagaytay, but since the weather was beautiful that day and the planner in 'me' wake suddenly. Hence, I started looking for an affordable Package Tour where we can maximize that quick getaway.  We rented a very huge and nice house for an overnight stay thru Airbnb which owned by a celebrity. 😉Honestly, I was not ready for any outdoor activity because I forgot to bring my hiking shoes! But I don't want to end here, just because I do not have those protective shoes, especially now that my convincing power took an effect on these amazing people to make the most of our trip. As we arrived in the place, we jump-off the car, ride a boat, take a long muddy walk, rent a horse, had a short hill climb... then finally! we get to see the charm of the Taal Volcano. We only spent roughly P1,500 pesos per head for this tour to see the spectacular viewpoint overlooking Crater Lake and Vulcan Point.

We ate dinner at the famous Bag of Beans, while the next morning, we had Breakfast at Antonio's. As we rolled inside the compound, we instantly knew that Antonio’s is not your ordinary restaurant. It's made up of elegant features, yes, a bit pricey but sumptuous food! There is a picturesque garden around the area, overlooking the Taal Lake.

Wherefore, I feel sad that after two months those blue and green sceneries stuck in my memory suddenly filled with grey- ashes! I still feel lucky and grateful that we are safe and get to witness the very attractive view of Taal Volcano before the government order to permanently close it to tourists.

Thus, I want to end this post leaving this gracious green and very alluring Taal Crater! Thank you for allowing me to see you.
